提要:本文介绍我在美国开展中文教学中使用形象教学法的一些经验。形象教学法即采用形象、生动的比喻,用生活中人们最熟悉的事务来比喻教学中遇到的复杂问题,激发学生的想象力,由彼联想到此,化抽象为形象,变复杂为简单,以此增加对所学内容的理解。汉语是在中国传统文化土壤里产生和发展起来的一种表意语系,因此在中文教学中把握住“形象”二字,使学生意会到汉语里包含的许多文化涵义,就会起到事半功倍的教学作用。

 

Abstract: My paper is about the image instructional method. The “image instructional method” means that teachers use images and vivid metaphors to coincide with what students are most familiar with in their daily lives. In so doing, the teacher activates students’ imaginations, so that they can make connections between what they already know (prior knowledge) and what they are learning as the moment. Students can use this strategy to turn abstract concepts into images, simplify the complex, and enhance their comprehension of content knowledge.

The Chinese language is a branch of the ideographic linguistic system. It has originated and evolved from its traditions and cultural environment, so it is an effective instructional strategy for teachers to bear in mind the “image method” during teaching while they guide their students through with their understanding and connection between many Chinese and its cultural connotations.
